This is a hand pierced one of a kind piece. I use two sheets of silver, the top piece allows me to drill a tiny hole in the silver, weave my saw blade through the hole and carefully cut out a bird. I repeat the steps for the next bird, as well as for the branch. Essentially, I am drawing with my jewelers hand saw. I will carefully solder the piece that I have pierced onto another piece of silver, finish the detail and oxidize it for contrast.
For the bail I have used keumbo to compliment the design. Keumbo is a technique involving burnishing 14k gold onto hot silver.
It measures approx. 1.25 x 1'and hangs on an 18' snake chain.
